Purchasing and Sales Administrator – Aerospace Raw Materials

The ideal candidate for this job role will:

  • Be well organised, proactive and have a high level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Have good understanding of Microsoft Excel including the use of basic formulas and IT proficient

Your New Role

Predominantly working as the Purchasing Administrator, providing cover for the Sales Administrator when needed, you will be part of the Commercial team performing an important role within the company, procuring raw materials and ensuring that they are delivered on time to support the manufacture of our parts into the global aerospace industry.

What you’ll be doing

In order to achieve the above objective, you will be carrying out the following activity:

  • Assisting with the planning requirements of raw materials to support the manufacture of 4000 components from 700 different materials.
  • Sending enquiries to suppliers to locate materials and get prices (for non-contract materials).
  • Challenge price and deliveries quoted, where improvements are necessary.
  • Raise and update Purchase Orders for the purchase of sheet/coil, bar, nuts/rivets and castings/forgings
  • Expedite POs to ensure on-time delivery and update system with expedite comments
  • Provide our Production Department with material delivery promise dates as and when required
  • Work in accordance with our Quality System to ensure compliance to aerospace standards

Also, you will be providing cover for the Sales Administrator as and when required (eg. during busy periods or holiday cover). This will include orderbook management (mostly electronic uploads).

We currently employ 180 people and are forecasting a sales turnover of £23.5m for 2023, and £27m for 2024.

Job Details

  • Salary £26,000 to £28,000
  • 33 days holiday including Bank, Easter and Christmas holiday, leaving 20 days to choose personally.

  • Working Hours: 39 Hours (Monday – Thursday 08:00am – 4:30pm, Friday 08:00am – 3:30pm)
